We are a competitive team that loves to race. Our focus is on competitive training and racing at an advanced level. Masters row on the water from spring through fall. The winter session consists of erging at the Dammrich Rowing Center.
NSC offers two women’s teams: one for women age 40 and under and one for women 40+.
Women Master Team, Under 40:
Most members of this team have rowed in high school or college. Prior rowing experience, however, is not necessary. This team welcomes women of any athletic background. NSC believes that the drive to excel at a sport and the persistence to make that happen creates successful rowers.
The under 40 team rows in the evenings during the week.
Women Master Team, 40+:
Technical proficiency, fitness levels, strength, and flexibility are a must. While there are opportunities to race according to all skill levels represented on the team, we attempt to enter the most competitive line-ups in varying age groups. We enthusiastically support all our racing boats. We also strive to have fun, which is an essential aspect of racing and team health.
A try out for the masters 40+ team is required to ensure that the athlete is ready to participate at the level set by the NSC coach. The selection process may include erg scores, technical proficiency, coachability, attitude, leadership, sportsmanship and ability to attend practice regularly.
